I think I'm wishing the summer to get here faster, so much so that the colors are manifesting into my work. This 3 piece 5' painting is now hanging in our bedroom. A welcome piece of energy on the huge empty walls.
Turquoise, Phalo Greens and Crimson hues all blended together with the saddle tone of our room. This is the first thing I'll see when I wake up every morning... then the coffee pot.
This new work is so versatile, it can go anywhere and in any room. I'm finding myself drawn to having options with the work once it's done. I suppose that creates more of a challenge for me in the long run. But clearly it's worth it!

First in-home art installation of the year!
Hanging my artwork can get a bit dangerous. Which is why my husband does it for me.
This is a 3 piece tryptic which I completed over the holidays when I took a few days off. It's actually still wet but I couldn't wait any longer to get it on the walls...that is, once I decided where to put it! Thanks honey!

7 days of Christmas break...
This year I decided to take a break from the regular 9-5 and get back to the creative roots I've lost touch with. My goal is to do something creative every day I have off. This is what I "finished" today - according to Jeff.
This could take months to dry since I used Cadmium red. And linseed oil. And mineral spirits. Oh my!
I also discovered we need a serious ventilation system in the basement. Next on the long list of "to-do's". I'll be purchasing more canvas tomorrow for my next creative adventure. I hope there's a sale or we might be in trouble...

Craigslist, I love you.
My name is Dana and I am a craiglistaholic. Yes, I have the app on my phone to browse while I'm sitting in traffic, in line at the grocery store, or watching football with my husband. It still counts as quality time if you are actually there...in person. You know.
And guess what? SCORE! This mirror is awesome and I have no idea what I am going to do with it!!!! It also weighs as much as I do. I didnt factor that part in when I purchased it.

Work in Progress
Future paintings for the living room. Here are 2 of 3 pieces that will be hung over the sofa that doesnt exist just yet.... Still in progress.
We have a lot of walls at our new place so I'm working on filling those with some new work. It's been fun getting acquainted with my studio again. Note: this painting may completely change before I'm finished. I'm not much of a planner when it comes to my painting strategy. We'll see how this one ends up though.
